New Thetford portable toilet offers the answer to Dutch discharge ban
Responding to the new Dutch discharge ban, Thetford is introducing a special version of its famous portable toilet, the Porta Potti®. The discharge ban which came into force on 1st January 2009 in the Netherlands, prohibits recreational boats, as described in the Recreational Craft Directive, to discharge toilet waste on surface waters. Because of the water quality and the general health, it is now obligatory to store toilet waste. With its portable toilet for the water sports market, Thetford not only contributes to cleaner swimming water, it also offers boat owners the most practical and cheapest solution to the discharge ban.
Comfortable, affordable and easy to use
For recreational boating, the discharge ban means boat owners need to install a waste-water tank, buy a portable or dry toilet of just moor more often when nature calls. Thetford's new version of the famous Porta Potti is the most practical and affordable solution for the discharge ban. This toilet does not require a technical installation, it can be easily transported and it can be installed anywhere, as opposed to the other alternatives. The toilet has a water flushing system, just like you are used to. No frustration because of plastic bags of complicated user instructions. Because this toilet is compact, lightweight, and easy to use, the Porta Potti is used in a lot of caravans and motor homes. But even on a boat, this portable toilet offers a comfortable and relatively cheap alternative.
Free toilet care products and mounting kit
Thetford's portable toilet is comprised of two parts: the upper part is a combined flush-water tank and toilet bowl with detachable seat and cover. By pressing a button, you flush and clean the toilet bowl with water. The lower part is the waste-holding tank. This lightweight waste-holding tank is equipped with an emptying spout and ventilation button so you can easily and without splashing empty the tank in a dedicated waste dump for chemical toilets. Thanks to the level indicator, you are warned well in advance when the waste-holding tank needs to be emptied. The two parts can be easily separated. The toilet is delivered with a special 'hold down kit' to attach the toilet to the floor of your boat, wherever you want. One simple action releases the toilet. Moreover, the toilet is equipped with a convenient compartment containing two free samples of Thetford's Toilet Care Products. These Toilet Care Products guarantee a fresh scent and an optimal functioning toilet. You can choose from 2 Porta Potti models: The PP335 and the PP365.
